org-mode software package provides keep notes, maintain ToDo lists, and do project planning in emacs, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install org-mode
org-mode is installed in your system.
Make ensure the org-mode package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep org-mode *
You will get with org-mode package name, version, architecture and description in a table
